Default Spark Plug Nightmare

What seemed like a simple job when I first thought about it has now become a bit of a nightmare.

I bought 6 lovely new spark plugs for my little 1989 7MGE Supra and of course I have managed to change 4 of them without any problems.

However, the remaining two seem to be buried under several tons of metal and hoses and God know what else.

Not a problem I thought, I would carefully dismantle this lump of engineering, change the plugs and then put it all back exactly as it was.

Locating all the bolts to undo is not a problem, getting a spanner or socket set to them is another matter. Most of them are easily accessible however, there are two which although I can see them there is no way I can get any access to them to undo them.

Is there any special trick to removing this lump of metal that I'm missing or do I need some sort of special tool like a spanner that can turn corners?

The arrow points to the area where the nut is that I simply cannot get to!!!

Use a socket with a long extension. if you cant do that then remove everything around the bolt so you can fit a wrench in there.

When you take that apart will you need a new intake manifold gasket?

Do you think I could get away with using some of that Gasket in a tube stuff?

This is a great product, Link it was first recommended to me by a engine rebuild company. It has the consistency of maple syrup and unlike silicon sealant it has a much longer assembly time.

You will need to remove the two little hold down brackets right before those lower bolts to be able to fit an extension all the way through there. Why they couldn't make it extend far enough that it wouldn't cover the spark plugs, i do not know.

Thanks for the tip on the gasket in a tube. I thought such a thing must exist.

I eventually managed to get at it using a slightly shorter extender. This is after I bought one of those flexible extenders which can turn corners, but that just twisted up like a rubber band!!

Thanks for all the help, I'll be having a bash at it today as with two old and dirty plugs it's sounding like a tractor at the moment.
