what connector is this??
Im putting everything back together after replacing my headgasket and i cant find out where a connector on the wiring harness goes to. It's right by tranny fluid dipstick on the right side of the motor. The connector is right next to two other big round connectors for the neutral safety start and reverse lights.
here are some pics from the top http://i8.photobucket.com/albums/a8/...t/IMG_0793.jpg http://i8.photobucket.com/albums/a8/...t/IMG_0794.jpg From the bottom... http://i8.photobucket.com/albums/a8/...t/IMG_0798.jpg http://i8.photobucket.com/albums/a8/...t/IMG_0802.jpg |
All I can say is look around for a plug that matches it. It is pretty far back there to be anything to do with A/C or much of anything unless you have that part of the harness loomed wrong then it may be in the wrong place.

i guess ill keep wedging my hand inbetween parts of the motor until i can find a place for it. Not fun. |
on a N/A 88 there are 2 connectors that are unhooked... the same that are in your pictures... I do not know what they do, however mine aren't connected either
|
I was doing some searching and found out that connector might be used for manual transmission cars. mine is automatic so i hope that is what it is.

Ya this question pops up every 90 days or so with the same darn pic.
You don't use that connect. :) |

just curious... why is it there? for testing equipment purposes? |
I have no idea.
All I know is that mine has no connect either. Nor does anyone else that I know. May be it's an automatic tranny thing. Your guess is as good as anyone elses. |
Ya, i'm pretty sure its the clutch switch for manual transmissions.

That is the connector for the abs speed sensor on the end of the tranny.
