Rear Differential Clunking
Hi all, I think the rear diff in my car is toast. It has a lot of play, but the weird thing is its not dead play, I can turn the drive shaft about a quarter turn and during the turn both of the CV shafts turn at the same rate as I'm turning the drive shaft. When I drive the car it sounds like a ka-thunk sometimes and other times it sounds like a ping, such as when u-joints go bad. I haven't had a chance to check the fluid, but I will shortly.
I think its time for a re-build, if possible. So I have a few questions; Where can I find the gear ratio, is it on the diff or somewhere else? Has anyone done any work to the non limited slip diffs before? Where besides the dealership could I look for a rebuild kit? Thanks! |

I have the same problem as you. Someone help us out. I'm gonna try to change my fluid this weekend.
