4runner 7MGE swap idle problem
I just swapped a 7MGE into my 4runner. pretty sure i've got everything hooked up right and it runs great... only problem is at low rpm it idles up to around 2000 rpm and then drops off to 500 rpm and back up. it does this consistently. 3 seconds at 2000 rpm and 1 at 500 rpm. I'm lost on this... any ideas? the CEL is not coming on...

Make sure there is no vac leaks. Check all of the vac lines running around the throttle body and intake manifold, also your intake behind the MAF sensor.

The tps dashpot may need to be replaced.
Ofcourse you would probably be throwing a code 51. |

It might also be the idle speed control valve. Test the plug or listen to see if it makes a noise when you shut the car off.
