Also, I don't think the ECU was your problem. And sometimes, when you car has managed to work around a burned out part, its better to leave it. Changing it only handicaps your car back to the way it was before.
Check your circuit board again. It might have burned out your new part again.

Power steering
 

Oh and one more thing
Check the power steering. If it is not working right, it might not be able to balance or compensate for the added weight.. causing your engine to jump around, then die.
Don't think this is it though, since it only happens when hot, but checking it is not bad.
