hey forum whats up i have posted some questions about my 88 7mgte. Cause i was having a bad studder and ran really crappy. any ways i changed the plugs today for the 3rd time in about a month and just happen to look down in to the head and guess what i saw, yep anti and oil. i thought for awhile and couldnt belive it cause my car doesnt smoke one bit not at all. this really pissed me off.... ....any ways.
If someone out there can help me out on some tips on doing this cause it looks like a real SOB, i have done a ton of hondas cavilers and alot of other head gaskets but this will be my first inline 6 turbo. I need to know tips, where to get a metal gasket for cheap some arp bolts, and any other things i might need. thanks o ya how long should this whole thing take

I think there is about 67 steps to taking the head off and getting it back together im shure if you have a detaled problem some one will know your solution, now is a good time to replace lots of stuff that is hard to get to with the head on. when you take the turbo off check the housing for cracks, and wiggle the turbine to check for play, you dont want much. if you have the money get the turbo rebuilt. it will upgrade to a T04E.
here is a good start but look for all the gaskets in the top end including head gasket. the time it takes is up to you and your part delivery time it could take 3 days or a month. man im pissed i payed 145 bucks for my arps here is some for 90 http://www.alamomotorsports.com/products.h..._headbolts.html http://www.overboost.com/obs/product.asp?pid=28724 |
