i really dont know man... i do know that i can turn everything inside and it glides like butter though... its so clean inside and out no stress cracks... and the clutch was still mint the presure plate and all was just amazing shape... i dont understand why there would be anything wrong with this transmission.

well, im not sure what else i can tell you. Its not normal for a transmission to not shift, so its not like i can say it sounds like its fine, cause i would be misleading you, but without any other information there's really nothing anyone here can say.

well do u think if i bolting the clutch and flywheel all together bolting the tranny to it and filled it with fluid if it might lube it into not being stuck?
cuz apparently this tranny only has 160k on it and my engines only got 37k from brand new... so i really dont wanna mess that up |

well you really dont know the root cause of the problem. If everything in the tranny is clean and lubricated like you said it shouldnt be "stuck", so maybe its some kind of shift linkage problem. Are you sure youre pushing the shift lever hard enough? Did you try turining the input or output shaft while you tried to shift?

So to be sure, you bolted the shifter into the transmission properly and you can move it side to side, but not to the left and up, to the left and down, up, down, to the right and up, or to the right and down? If you bought it from Toyota im sure they tested it before they sold it to you... Again, did you try turning the input or output shaft as you shifted it? and when you turn the input shaft, does the output shaft turn also? If so, can you hold the output shaft from turning while you turn the input shaft?
