Typically when you rebuild an engine there is a break in period as i'm sure most of you know. During this break in period burning a quart of oil every 1000 to 1200 miles is usually normal until the rings seat and everything wears in to where it needs to be, so you may have not neccesarily had a problem in the beginning. They may have somehow now caused a problem.
