knock sensor rewire gone bad??

OK, so I just finished with my knock sensor rewire. Went to put my battery back in. I connected the negative, then when I put on the positive, something near the passenger side TEMS actuator buzzes and the temp gauge is spiked up, and the battery and check engine light are on(and the key isnt in the ignition.)

Sounds like a ground issue. Make sure your wiring job isn't exposed and touching anywhere. Did you run a whole new wire from ecu to knock sensor?

yes, ran whole new wire.

unsure if i hooked my starter up right. do you think that could cause it?

I suppose it's a possibility. Especially if something is grounding out. You can have the WEIRDEST issues when it comes to that
