was for my 88 Cressida, non-chip version. All keys. (I got them cut for free btw because I bought a AMA right before hand). The key disintegrated in the ignition barrel. (literally)

Ah,,, this is the car....

The car did not have any keys when I first got it. I got a key and ignition from the junkyard. The owners manual is long gone, so the key code is unknown to me. I will copy the VIN and try to get the key code from the dealer. Hopefully, I can then get keys made, but not if it is gonna cost me 250$!!!

Default key code!

On the passenger door, there is a key code stamped on the lock cylinder. You'll have to dismantle the handle from the door to be able to read it. It will be a letter followed by four digits. Write it down (and store it somewhere safe!) and take it to a dealer. It will cost you all of $7 for a new key ($14 if you want a real Toyota key).

Yes, I too once lost my keys
