First time Buyer (87 Turbo Supra)
Just looked at the 87 supra...
I am buying it Monday. It has no issues except the Cold Start Issue. I am just wondering how much this really ends up fixing? He showed me the little electric looking plug near the intake i believe it was. He said it's that. I see all the help on here which is great, but I can't find a price for the fix. This is my first Supra and I AM WAYYY TOO EXCITED. Any little info/advice/tips would be great. I followed that guys Guide on the other thread as much as I could. It seems to check out. I bought the Carfax, which thankfully was a waste of 30 bux. Thanks so much guys! Josh |

OK I bought and picked up the car.
On the test drive it ran perfect. Driving it home though it acted really strange. It started to buck really bad and the rpm's randomly dropped then went back up. (SCARY AS HELL) As well I found out the Gas release handle, doesnt quite open the door. You have to have someone hit the handle and another person open the gas door. And the driver side door lock doesn't work from the inside. I am handy and have fixed many problems on an old 89 Celica I had. if anyone can guide me properly to fix these items I'd so much appreciate it. |

First, check with the TSRM for help in trouble shooting. I would say start with the basics. How old is the fuel filter? Is there enough pressure coming from the pump? What about the spark plugs? New? Old? Crappy Bosch? What about the distributor? Cracks? Then just start going up the line to figure it out. The TSRM has a decent troubleshooting chart.
