Default headlight issue, prolly fuses!!! help please?

got an electrical prob... just picked up a 86.5 mk3 and till this morning, the headlights have worked fine. i try to start car this morning, car starts, but headlights refuse to come on. which fuse deals with the actual light going to the lights? I do not have a fuse panel cover on my drivers kick panel, so im shit outta luck there. someone please help>?

are you sure you looked well, fuse panel should be there,right under on the left hand side

should be there just start pulling fuses usually a headlight fuse is a larger fuse (ex 40 or 50 amp) also look under the hood in the relay box it might be in there as well.

40 or 50? I thought cars rarely went up to 30, mostly under 20 amp fuses.

found something of interest... getting a replacement will be here tomorrow from boise:

headlamp relay *underhood fusebox, above fuse 2 and 5* under the dash there is nothing dealing with headlights. checked a tech wiring diagram
