Engine swap from 1G-EU to other 1G series? GA70...

Hey guys,

I'm looking at buying a GA70 (MkIII from what I've researched?) 1986 Supra, with a rooted 1G-EU engine in it, and auto transmission.

I have experience working on cars (mostly Nissan) in my spare time, and a reasonably comprehensive home garage, but I'm pretty clueless when it comes to Toyotas!

The price is 600NZD, but I'll probably need to replace the engine... am I correct in assuming that any of the 1G series engines will bolt in? What sort of mods need to be done to fit it in? Wiring harness the same?

I'll probably look at getting a decent bit of power into it, maybe look at the 1JZ route, again, is this a painless task or is it gonna need engine mounts fabricating etc?

Sorry if there's already info out there on this, but I've not come up with anything obvious... I guess not many people wanted to buy a single cam 2lt from factory... my daily driver seems to push out more horsies than it (when it went that is)!

Cheers, Chris
