Woohoo my NEW 1989 Supra Targa
So after a 10 year hiatus I'm the proud owner of a new to me 1989 Supra.. Auto 165,000. I decided to look into buying an auto because I'm at an age where I don't need to go anywhere fast and I hate to be stuck in traffic driving a stick. The whole purpose of getting this as a 2nd car was to use it for weekend cruises with the targa top down. I was looking at a few of the late 80s and early 90's sports cars and it was a tough decision because I had heard good things from all the cars I was considering: Porsche 944, Mazda RX7, MR2, Miata, BMW 325. As it turned out this 89 came a long for the right price and it was reasonably good shape so here I am. My first Supra was a 1987 Turbo and she was a blast to drive until the head gasket went out. This time around I'll know better and to check the fluids every so often. I've been lurking on this site for the past week as I looked at the supras. Anyhow what I have is an original paint 89 Targa top white package?? No dents on the body, needs a little work to get it nice again, antenna broke, no radio, targa is leaking but not where the seams are but where the windows hit the top gaskets on both passenger and drivers side. This has an aftermarket japanese engine that has about 60,000 miles on it. Engline still runs strong and I did a radiator flush today and it was filled with crap! The front and back bumpers have some paint rubs and the white rims are also in need of paint. I am going to attempt to do this myself and would like some of the experts to chime in if you can. What do I need, where can I get it and what are some brands I should be looking at as far as paint. I'm thinking of going the spray can route but there are many brands out there I know. So here she is hope pic loads up.

I don't have any suggestions as far as paint unfortunately but I did want to stop by and say welcome to the forums and that I love your car I've been waiting for the right priced 89' turbo in the color white to come along.. I don't not like my blue one just really like the white ones with the 89' bumpers

I just got a 89+ bumper for my 87 and some new wheels so it is doing good. Now if the clutch had held then I would be in business.
