prepping block for headgasket question
hey guys I have a question about how you guys got your block ready for your HG repair? So far I have used an abrasive bad on a pneumatic gun. it did a great job on the intake side of the block, but on the exhaust side there seems to be a lot more shit on the block, is this something you came across as well? would you guys use a soft wire wheel at any point? any suggestions help, thanks.

I definitely suggest you don't use a wire wheel. Just use a blade scraper to get the stuff off. I believe they have a gasket removing liquid also, you let it soak and it makes removing it easier. I removed all my gasket material with a scraper blade. You want to be extremely careful with air tools as it could make the surface uneven without being able to see it.
