Timing belt tensioner HELP !
I had a new head gasket put on 2 days after getting my 87 supra. I had water pump, timing belt, etc replaced but the mechanic did not tell me until I picked it up that I'll need to replace the timing belt tensioner(can't tell you how pissed I was). So can anyone tell me if this is something I can do? I have some mechanical knowledge but just asking for input first before getting into something that I shouldn't. Thanks for any help!

Really with the head gasket I would replace the timing belt too. He should have called and ask you if you wanted to put up some extra money for the belt and the tensioner. You should ask him why he did not even call you for the additional repair.
