VAF check engine light on code number #2
hi, guyz check engine light came on my 89 mkiii. it give s me code #2 which is VAF(vane air flow) circuit. need help. thanks.:x:

This is incorrect. All codes are two digit. The base diagnosis code is 12. Try again, and post the code for help.

hey bro no offence but there is a code #2 and it is vaf circuit. and the one u r talking abaut code 12 which is etc sensor problem. thanks but i will recheck it again.:dance:

I double checked on the http://www.toyota-supra.info/forums/mkiii-supra/9950-tsrm.html , and your correct about the code 12, except it is an 'RPM Signal malfunction'. However, all codes are still two digit. If you believe the problem is the 'Vane Air Flow Circuit', this must be with the air flow meter, which is a vane style meter. Check the connections, and check the meter box itself to make sure the problem is not internal to the sensors in the meter. Next, you'll need to check for continuity in the lines to the ECM.

ya i checked the manual i have its says code #2 but any ways i already fixed it check engine light is gone:). it is true that code 12 is related to rpm but thats what my manual says about code #2:confused:. But new problem came out the light came on which is left to door signal light above the check engine light. finally just for your guyz info i am a vw guy so i dont know much about toyota.

Cant remember off hand if this light is in that spot, but if it has a pic of a car with little lines coming out the back side of it that means you have a rear light that is out.
