Long story short... the fuel line on the other side of the fuel filter (not the side that goes to the pump) is damaged near the end. I went to many auto parts stores only to find that none of them had the right size bolt and line to fit the filter. I went to toyota and they said it would take a month or more to get the part, and it would include the whole fuel line which was around $60.00.
I can probably take the part to the hardware store and have them remove the damaged line that is stuck inside the bolt. Then buy a couple inches of brake/fuel line and cut off the other damaged part that is still on the car, and connect the two ends. I can either do that, or find a site that sells the whole line with the connectors on the ends. I have been looking but I can't find any. If anyone has any sites or feedback to my situation, please let me know. priddy@hartford.edu |
Well... I fixed the line and everything is good now.
After installing the pump and filter, I tried starting the engine again after bleeding the fuel system and it still isn't getting enough fuel into the engine. I guess it's time to check the injectors...how? |
