1.2mm or 2.0mm HKS mhg???
My head gasket hasn't blown YET. I just want to add some upgrades to my supra, I don't want to go overboard risking damages with a stock hg. I want my supra to stay under 400hp, which hg do you guys prefer??

How thick of a gasket you get depends on how much of the head and block are shaved off. So if you send the head and block to a shop make sure you find out how much they shave off, so you can figure out which gasket to get

Oh i see thanks for the info. By the way are any mhg from ebay any good?
|
Hard to say. I wouldn't put anything other than a name brand gasket on my car if I got it through eBay, the HKS ones seem to be pretty popular. I am still running the factory gasket. 200,000 miles and it still hasn't blown, as far as I know (not the original owner)

yeah i would only get hks. damn that's alot of mileage, mine is half of that. btw is the arp head bolt and stud a direct bolt on or do you have to modify the bolts to fit?
|
From what I can tell from reading on here, the ARP stud kit is the way to go, and it seems like it's a irect bolt on. Just be sure to torque it to the ARP specs, or at least near there. I believe they are usually torqued to around 80 ft./lbs.
