Wheel bearing question
I searched around and have not found this yet. But what would happen if a wheel bearing goes bad, or worse seizes up? I have noticed that when I am driving that the wheels squeal a little bit, and turning even louder. I raised it an turned the wheel while in the air and it squealed. The brakes are new, So I think it is the wheel bearing. I don't have the money to replace them yet, so I wanted to know what would happen if they seize, or is it rare. Also Are they only in the front wheels?

I would say its very rare, my first Mk III Supra I bough from new in mid 1986 it was a eventually written off in a hit and run road accident after clocking up 250,000 miles. Never needed to replace a wheel bearing. Have you tried; jacking up the wheel, holding the wheel at top and bottom and rocking it to see if there is any play in the bearing? I've had bearing wear on other vehicles they normally start with loud humming/drowning noise not a squeal. I would raise it up again and remove the brake pads, spin the wheel to see if it squeals. Don’t put your foot on the brake without the pads in.

Good point TurboSupera, and did you fit the pads yourself ? Are the anti squeal shims and springs fitted correctly?

Yeah the brake pads are new and the rotors were resurfaced too. I am going to recheck the bearing, I forgot to move the wheel and check for play. But the pads are organic it might be them. I was just worried about the bearing, because when I bought the car about 2 years ago it sat since 2000 with flat tires, and in the grass. So I wanted to know what would be the worse case if the bearing did fail. Thanks guys I am going to get on it once the rain goes away.
