Hey guys, is the NA Supra even worth buying? I'd like to turn one I found into a project car, but was wondering if I should go with the NA or the Turbo. Is there really that big a difference? What's the max HP I can get outta an NA???

If you decide on buying the NA and want a turbo I have a stock CT26 turbo manifold and turbo 440cc injectors for sale $80 for everything. As far as is the NA worth buying that is all up to you and what you are looking to get out of the car. The NA motor has a higher compression ratio and with the right tuning has the potental to make more power than the turbo motor dueto the higher compression ratio. But again tuning will be very important to keep the motor alive.

Power-2-$$ ratio = Turbo is best bet over N/A. Oh, you got $$ to blow?? Then get a MK4 and build it !!

realistically... find a Turbo if at the end of the day you want power
you can get power from an NA but it takes a whole lot more money time and research and MK3'S ROCK!!!

i hear from the grap vine..............oh hell it was in some sport tuner book, that theres a storker kit for the NA engine, that would max the torqure out large, might give a turbo a good run, also makes a 3.0L into a 3.4L
sounds nice to me. kit has pushrods/pistons and crank, not sure what else comes with it ill have to find the book. Stroker = Low end torque at a lower RPM's Turbo = Higher HP and Torque at greater RPM's ive built many chevs and i think ill try the stroker kit before i turbo my NA. |
