Got a lock on a Supra for $1000. The owner says it produces white smoke from the tailpipe at startup only and that his mechanic says it's due to the fact that he rarley drives it. What could cause this?

Thanks!

Fist is the car turbo. If it is then the smoke might be coming from oil leaking from the turbo into the down pipe. It could also be a bad set of pistons rings or a leaky valve gide. Good luck.

white smoke on startup (especially in the mornings) is quite common... it's just the condensation in the exhaust steaming off from the engine warming up

if it continues permanently you have a problem

also i think i stated this particular question in the FAQ

SEARCH!!!

LOL

Thanx. I did a search for "White Smoke" and also poured through every page of the MK III threads and didn't see it, (dosen't mean it ain't there, I just missed it) that's why I asked.

Also, What's the difference between an 86.5 and an 87 (both NA)

'Preciate the tip!
