Weird noise, sounds like a fan
I have a strange noise coming from the passenger side interior of my car. It sounds like a whirling noise, it does not happen when I am sitting still, only when driving. I'm not sure what fan could be over there. Also, is there a camera or something in the car that would need a lens in the car? Its a 86.5 and on the passenger side defrost vents there is a small lens looking dudad lol. Anyway, thanks for any help

A lens? No idea what your talking about. The fan noise might be your vent fan?

where exactly is the vent fan in there? The lens is quite odd lol. I'll take a pic and put it up tomorrow. Seems really random where it is

The small lens in the dash vent you're seeing is the solar sensor, part of the climate control system. |

Cool, thanks for the info on the lens. I was like wth when I saw it. I'm still puzzled by what can be making that noise though. Its not the antenna, thats working fine. I'm going to rip the dash out and see what it doing. I think it may be the heater core, not sure.

Can you change the speeds on your a/c-heater fan? It's under the dash over on the passenger side, was thinking maybe you're hearing that but I don't know. I wouldn't think anything about your heater core should be making that kind of noise. And ripping your dash out isn't a trivial exercise if you haven't done it before, fair warning.

I'm a mecp installer lol. Dash is cake. I've tried everything with my heat and air to see if i can get it to stop. No such luck. I've got air coming in from somewhere turning a fan, just don't know which.

Well, best of luck to you then. When you find out what's up make sure you let us know, I'm pretty curious now myself.

The whirling noise could be air entering the cabin or static coming out of the speaker too. Have someone else drive and see if you can locate the sound when it's going down the road. A more accurate area would assist us in diagnosis.
