Crazy smoke and idling
So I was driving home the other day and noticed the car sputter a bit at 70 mph. I got off the interstate and took the slow road home. I thought maybe it was some bad gas. I let the car sit for 2 days and went out today and started it. It had quite a bit of hesitation in it and blowing white smoke galore. I'm not losing any coolant and my temp is fine. I let it run for about a hour and my coolant level remained the same. No milky oil. All plugs are firing. At my wits end trying to figure this out. Engine is a long block from jasper with about 35k miles on it.

does the white smoke keep blowing? Maybe you should check for a bhg.

take the valve covers off and loosen the head bolts and retorque them.
that should give u a few more months if its not blown bad. my brother inlaw did that with his supra and he drives it very hard and got a few months more before he had to replace the gasket |

I am experience the same thing but today I turned my car off and it would not crank back after 20 min. The more I turned the car over it would hit and the white smoke started rolling. I had a little time today to check it out and two of the coil packs are not firing. Do not know yet if it is coil pack or the ignitor. This might be something to check out. My car was blowing white smoke at idle too.

If you have white smoke then coolent is getting into your combustion chamber. I'm going to assume that you have bhg. Even though it doesn't seem like it and you don't see coolent doesn't mean you don't have a bhg. Some times the head gasket breaks towards the pistons causing white smoke but no coolent in the oil or signs of it but white smoke.

Well when I smell the smoke it almost smells like burnt oil. I'm leaning towards something fuel related. Its almost like I have lost a cylinder in the process. I'm going to try new plugs and wires and see if it helps. Its due for a tune up so we'll see.
