brake boot squeel
wondering if anyone has had this problem. When im driving a very high pitched squeel comes from the boot on the brake pedal bracket that goest through the firewall. When i hit the brakes it gets louder and if press hard enout it goes away for a second then comes back. It has to be a vacuum leak as thats the only thing that could make a squeel that bad (at least imo) but i was seeing if anyone had this problem and a known solution. Thanks.

Sounds like you may have a ruptured brake booster diaphragm.

is the diaphragm the arrow in the picture? If so then I'll have to pull the whole damn thing off.

No, the diaphragm is inside the metal housing. You will have to change the whole thing. The bolts are way up under the dash, its not hard to change, just a bitch to get to the bolts.
