How much......
Hey guys, a 1987 Supra turbo just got a for sale sign put in its window around my way. Called the guy to ask how much and he said no set price but he is taking offers. He was honest and said the car had some problems, One flat tire, needs 4 new struts, and the hose to the power steering is busted. He also said it needs some body work (not sure how much though) He said the car has 167,xxx miles on it, but the motor and tranny has about 5,000. What would be a decent offer to start out at?
Thanks for your help guys Mike |

You could probably go to a wrecker and find a used power steering system. Any pics? I'd say more than 800$ for sure tho.

I thought I might be able to give you some prices on what its going to be for the repairs you mentioned, since I have just done the same on my Supra.
Struts are going to put you out at $300 a pair, plus labor if you can't/don't have the tools to do it yourself. Remember they have to be Toyota Struts or else it wont work with TEMS. Power steering line is going to run you around $50-$80 for the line, but this isn't too difficult to put in yourself, its a pain but it can be done. As far as what I would offer would be determined on what condition the engine and tranny are in, the car itself is worth a bit if the body and paint are in good condition. Do your homework and find out the history on that engine if possible, because if it throws a rod, blows a head gasket ect... then you are looking at some serious time/money to get it fixed. |

Body work, studs, and tires is too much problems for a car worth over 1000 dollars. So I'd say offer him under 1000 dollars if possible.
