Broke something.. and i dont know what it is. help.

ok so i am currently in the process of changing my hg.
i accidentally broke this plastic cover.. i dont know what it is. and is it bad if i just leave it open? its circled in that pic. (thats not my engine.. i didnt have a acamera handy when it happend but its the same lol.) |
That's your CPS (cam position sensor) cover. You can't just leave it open without crap getting in there and screwing it up. You can get a nice shiny aluminium CNC-made cover from various places, or a OEM one from Toyota for a few bucks. Get the gasket/seal that comes with it too.

As mirage83 said, Link to Billet CPS which would look great in your engine bay.
