Project Car-Where to find the Parts?
I recently acquired an N/A 1988 Targa top supra for $700. Despite having the worst paint I've ever seen the car is in overall good condition for its age. With that being said it has alot of work that needs to be done to it.
Here are the parts I need... Body -literally all the black trim is faded -Both side mirrors(both are cracked or chipped) -Rear Bumper -hood struts as well as the ones for the liftback -Both door handles (drivers side handle assembly is completely trashed) also the stock spoiler that I usually only see on the Turbos is also on this car but its pretty banged up but salvageable Interior -everything... I need some suggestions on this one I may just strip the entire thing Suspension -New, factory replacement, or even used springs Electronics -Everything seems to work but I am unsure how to check, what really worries me are the "sport" and "normal" settings for the suspension they light up but im not entirely sure they work properly Gauges -only problem seems to be a finicky speedometer Engine -for a 165K the 7mge (seriously nothings wrong with not getting a turbo for a project car, too many punks the car they drive is leaps and bounds superior because its got a turbo) engine appears to be in exceptional condition all it needs is a good tune up I also need the rubber seals for things like the Targa Top and windows I may send pics to help elaborate |

Anything?
Now that I took a second look at the interior I think I'm gonna strip it all down, remove the nonessentials and make a no BS sports car. |

For the trim it's hard to find and when you do it's expensive I suggest trying your local Toyota dealership. The side mirrors you should look at a junk yard or the Toyota dealership as well. I bought mine from the junk yard last year as one of mine was broken in half when I purchased the car. For the rear bumper I suggest that you do a search on google or go to ebay motors and also trying these web sites www.duraflexbodykits.com and www.horsepowerfreaks.com <---this one also sells a lot of performance and factory parts for our cars. You might find your original rear bumper or something better that you might like. For the hood struts you can purchase them off the horsepowerfreaks website or you can check around your local parts stores for these. As far as the door handles and spoiler you can look around on the web and at the dealership as well. Let me know if you need any more help

awesome I think some body shops around town may be able to help me with the seals or even trim. I have a toyota dealership nearby and I'll try to order the motors/lights for the mirrors from them. I still dont know what Im gonna do about the interior...
