Oh man, where to start... watch this video.
Hey guys. So my Supra crapped out on me a few days ago... right after I heard this noise..
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Td0EgRBSrJM (fast forward to the end, around 2:04 to hear the sound. I was also trying to show the shift problem I was having in the vid, thats why it's kinda long.) .. Engine seized up.. so I have the Engine out of the car now. got the oil pan off and the crank pulley nut, along with the connecting rod bearings and some of the crank bearings off(will get the rest off tomorrow). But what I'm looking for is info as to what I might notice while I'm doing this. What things could cause the engine to seize up? I've read spun bearings.. and so far the connecting rod and crank bearings were decent besides cylinder 5.. it was pitted a little. Also cylinder 5 spark plug was discolored unlike the rest. Is that the problem perhaps.. I think there is more to it.. but I dunno, that's why I am here. So I'm going to update as I go, but any info/help in between will help. Don't know if it's even worth going through the trouble, I might just upgrade to 7MGTE if the cost to fix my n/a is not in my favor. |
