Does anyone know if a divorced downpipe is legal in California?

Technically, anything before your cat that is not stock is supposed to be illegal in CA. However, several aftermarket manufacturers that make headers and exhaust parts have made "50 State legal" parts, so I'd say it's possible. If you do get one, make sure it has a CARB label on it or a CARB placard to put in plain view (like K&N Intakes do) so the smog tech won't fail you in the visual inspection
