My cousin has an STi and he pour's water on his intercooler to cool it down, I was just wondering if i could do the same to the supra's stock intercooler... jus a question... yes i know its kinda stupid..but i'm curious...

I woudln't see any problem in doing it, it's like icing down a radiator. There are guys that have built cages that hold ice so that it drips down on the intercooler, but the gains are minimal (the highest I've heard is 15hp, but I don't think that's normal)

you can also buy an intercooler sprayer that will spray water automatically when you push a button

Or you can rig it up so your winshield sprayer spray's into your intercooler instead of onto your winshield, just go to home depot and get some fittings and reroute the lines from your windshield sprayers.

Yeah, but like I said, the payoff is minimal. I see them doing it on drag cars, but they use fire extinquishers which are far colder than water. You'll get more performance by upgrading your intercooler.

i dont bother with water, i go straight for the ice. i can ususally fit a bag of ice(without the bag) between the radiator and intercooler. she runs better for a lil bit before it melts completely.

The REALLY good setups use a sprayer that sprays nitrous or CO2 on the intercooler cooling far better than ice without restricting airflow through the intercooler. Really cool setup now that can cool the air entering the intake manifold, your fuel rail, air exiting the turbo, and finally being sprayed on the intercooler, and even after going through all the areas, it's still below freezing. I't supposed to be good for a LOT of power AND street legal. Now for someone to test it on a 7M...

design engineering has a setup that your talking about. it uses c02 to chill the fuel and compressed air before combustion. the sad part is you can put one together far cheaper.
