and his reply - "I'm not a street racer" at the same time admitting he was "street racing" - laughable. and his defense - It was the first time - I don't normally do it! - try that on a judge or a grieving mother! Carl "take it to the track" Johansson |

Get a life he says - Lets examine me “getting a life” - shall we, at least in terms of cars and other vehicles. So you can go to this website - www.sorcrace.com, and look myself and my brothers up. SORC is an open road race through part of Nebraska - take a look at the results - we have had a win and a second place in the past 3 years. What were you doing with your life in the summers?
And go check this out www.saltflats.com. Check out the “130 MPH club. More Johanssons that any other family on the list, including the oldest member (My Dad) and the youngest member - my nephew, with 8 or 9 other members - what have you been doing with your life? Also scroll through the rest - you should see our runs on the track for the last 8 years or so! So what does this have to do with Supras you say? Check this out: www.24hoursoflemons.com We run the Texas Races every year - you can find us in the results - last spring 8th out of 97 cars. We also ran the thunderhill race 2 years ago , and will do it again this fall. We have 2 different supra markIII we use for this! Check out the Jalopnick links if you want to see pictures of our car! Oh yah - in my spare time - I ride dirt bikes - including a 400 mile ride through lower Michigan with 4 of my brothers this summer. Here’s a quick report on it. www.johanssonbrothersracing.blogspot.com older posts include from the lemons races etc. So that’s my recreational life - how’s that - does it meet your standard for having a life? Now how about professionally? Research Biologist who travels all over the world looking at Bats, Tardigrades, and doing large scale ecology. Lots of publications, just discovered a new species - works in the arctic and the Amazon. And go do a search on the US Patent office to find my current patent! Sorry to say that I do not meet your definition of “having a life” as I have never seen any of the Fast and Furious Movies, nor do I play video games. I prefer to actually do the stuff - you know - race cars and bikes, capture Jaguars, and anacondas, travel to the Arctic and South America doing work – So hows your “life” treating you? Scored 12 million points on “couch potaoto racers” video game yet? Sat in the bathtub making car noises pretending to be actually driving a race car this week! this thread is way off its topic
wow your one really kool guy!
haha look man i dont really care about your life.. im just saying to drop all the b s about street racing.. i agreed with you in the first place.. gettin your car up to 125 a couple times doesnt make you a street racer punk.. im tired of fighting with you.. its stupid. if you want to argue with people about street racing start your own thread about how much you hate street racers.. im over it. thnx

It sounds like your dad governed the car. A stock mk3 should top out at around 156mph acording to Wikipedia. Hope you get it figured out man.

About street racing
I think its stupid and its the reason California is anal as hell about car mods I take my car to the track when some asshat challanges me but I dont think you guys need to yell at him for driving fast to top his car out I do it on abandoned road type or rural areas all the time and ive never even come close to hurting anyone give the kid a break. But I also agree you need to be safer dont even get your car going on the interstate find a track or abandoned road to test that shit. I can tell your not trying to street race or hurt anyone so they need to lay off on you a bit.
