Default Noise near front of engine when clutch is engaged.

Really need help here. Just got an 87 Supra T last week. It has an RPS stage 3 clutch on it. When the clutch is engaged, I get a chirping sound - similar to a loose-belt sound. Previous owner thinks it's normal. Two ASE certified techs who work on imports think it's a bad crankshaft or something related. Of course, those techs don't deal with performance parts. Are they right? Any thoughts or advice?? Please help.

It could be the throwout bearing. My old 'Teg did the same thing.

Crank walk. Heavy duty pressure plates cause problems.

So, if I was to downgrade the clutch, would that fix the problem? Or is it something that is irreversible at this point? If so, how do I fix? Is the crank damaged?

I agree with Nate crank walk sucks and downgrading the clutch isnt going to help. You have done the damage now and seeing as the 7MGTE thrust main bearing is 3 peices on the top and bottom you have probably wore it out or just broken it. So if you take out the clutch then it will still do it. Sounds like you gonna have to look into doing the bottom end. But look into it there are way to check to see if the thrust bearing is bad but from what your telling us sounds like it I am sure if you ask any of the guys with high Horsepower they will tell you they have either run into this problem or were warned first and did all the stuff to the bottom end before getting that type of clutch.
