2jz swap...wiring Q???...
ok so i, like alot of ppl am contemplating doing the 2jz conversion into my mkIII...
and i have been doin some research but there is some thing that gets me everytime ...alot of ppl that make the wiring threads for the conversion barely mention anythin about the ecu, and the couple of threads that have mention usuing the 7m computer... and a couple of threads i have read they mention it as a major pain "splicing" the 2j loom and the 7m loom together so i guess my questions are... why would ppl use the 7m computer instead of the 2jz 1?...is there a problem in using the 2jz computer? ...and why is the loom splicing so hard? ...i know there was a detailed thread on how to splice the 2 looms together but i cant find it. so if any1 can answer my questions or show me where the threads are that explain this to me, it would b much appreciated thanks in advance =] |

A big problem with splicing the 2jz loom with the 7m loom, besides being very difficult, is that the 2jz computer works in conjuction with a fuel pump computer as well. Without the fuel pump computer, the 2jz ecu won't do much.
http://www.supramania.com/forums/sho...d.php?p=994419 here at least tho, you'll have the ecu pinout, i can't remember where i found the fuse box pinouts or dash pinouts, but I hope this helps a little.

don't know about that myself, i've never had the chance to do the swap, but i think if you're good enough with following wiring diagrams it shouldn't be that big of a deal. at most, you might have to make a harness to go from the fuel pump control computer to the 2jz ecu. after that, it's just swapping the 2j harness to work with the MKIII body and gauges.
