How can I tell my transmission?
I think I may need to find out what kinda transmission I have in my mk3... I know the manual's had two seperate types, and the auto's had one for both na and turbo. Thing is, I thought I had a 7mge w/ auto trans. Turns out, after doing a part search and matching my vin, she was a manual.
Why? Why would someone ditch the manual for a crapomatic? /rant Well, it is a new(ish) tranny, it's been on the car about 6 or 7 months and maybe seen 3000 miles since it was rebuilt. This much I know cause the guy I bought it from was good friends with the mechanic who did the work and aquired the car cause the owner couldn't make good on the bill. Is the A340E the only auto transmission that could be slapped in my car? or is there a way to tell looking at it from underneath? like a manufacturer stamp or something? |
