Those aren't stock for an MKiii, I believe. Correct me if I'm wrong but those are from an MKiv and are they 16" or 17"? Bolt pattern should be 5 x 114.3. I have a set of those rims (16" non-turbo) on my MKiii and I'm running 225 in the front and 245 in the rear. Personally I wouldn't go wider than 225 in the front and I might go with a 255 in the rear, when I need to change them.

Yeah, stock would be R16/225. As for max width on the back probably want stick with 255. My stock tires cost me $120 a piece, because the 225 width is a "special order tire". I'd have no idea how much 255's would run you.

Wow, really?! I just changed my fronts about 4 months ago and my tires were only $89.00 a piece. I guess it depends on the tires, but $120.00 is still expensive to me. In California, 225s are not a special order here. Have you ever tried tirerack.com?

Nah I haven't I live here in Nebraska, and from what it sounded like at 'Walmart'( I know :*( ) They have to special order tires as wide as or wider than 225.
