No Shroud; Fan chewing liner
I don't have a fan shroud... I think it was removed when the headers were wrapped... to make airflow throughout the bay rather than just on the engine... Whatever the case might be, the fan is actually catching my hood liner, chewing it into little bits that are finding their way in my cab thru the vents... Any help anyone can give would be appreciated.
First, wondering how detrimental these bits of lining could be under the hood. Second, need to know if there's a simple fix since a fan shroud is not in my budget... and I'd rather get a dual elec fan mount if I'm spending money on the fan... would I be ok with using duct tape to close up the gashes the fan has made thus far? or will the fan just chew the duct tape and make things even worse? |

Get a shroud, new or used doesn't matter, probably someone on the board or boards has one they'd part with reasonably. The shroud's important as it helps direct airflow through the radiator rather than allowing it to flow around it (where it does little good in cooling your engine). That'll fix the hood-liner being chewed as well.
