mkIII won't rev!!
Hi, my mkIII single turbo starts first time but will not rev. I have relocated the air mass meter but it is still in the air flow only difference is it is now mounted in a section of the rubber pipe instead of the original hard plastic casing. The only other mods were larger inter-cooler, turbo rebuilt, complete exhaust system and air filter. Fuel pressure and spark seem to be okay. The engine management light does not light at any time. Do any of you guys have any ideas.
Thanks, |

Don't have a turbo, and haven't relocated the MAF.. but did just fix a similar issue... turned out to be my distributor... if it's not related to the relocated MAF (which I'd imagine would have shown troubles right away), maybe check your timing... mine was a snapped distributor shaft that was snapped down near the gear.. which allowed me spark every once in a while... enough to run at 200rpm once a day for a few seconds.. just to keep the seals holding their pressures and liquids. Not saying it's your distributor... that'd be a VERY random and ironically timed issue since that's what I just finished going thru two days ago... but I would think timing could be culprit.

thats weird, tell us more. so does it idle good? at what rpm? what happens when you apply the gas? has your boost changed at idle from before the turbo was rebuilt?
