Debate on which swap to do 1jzgte or 2jzgte COMMENTS?
Ive been trying to decide what I want to swap into my 90 7mgte supra... I bought It as a halfway done ass project car with new interior and sloppy new paint job.been working on redoing the whole thing step by step.. but its in great condition the motor is in decent condition but all the small stuff if just gonna murder me and I have the money to play. Ive driven a 1jz and loved it to death.. never driven a 2j but have definitley seen and heard the reputation..
Comments Please..which would be easier.... 1j is like 1-1.5k everytime i look for 2jzs i dunno if a aristo one is the same as the toyota and whats vvti stuff? I don't know if their all the basic same or does it matter? I just need some insight are the jzs from aristo just as good? Last edited by Raysupra; 10-30-2009 at 01:22 AM. |

I want with a 2jz because I didn't want to be that guy with a 1jz wishing i had got a 2jz. If you got the money go with the 2jz.

Hey man, i loved my 7m quick as all hell only at 13 psi, but some times you gotta step up (If you have a daily driver also) lol, im about to start a swap of a N/A vvti 2j into my mklll and so far good god, nothing looks good, but in this gamn of life if we want it to happen you gotta pursue it, so inorder to here those pistons turn, do the right thing and bust out google and search your ass off. as im doing the same, lol.
vvti stand for varible valve tuning, its the intake cam stalling for a rediculously short amont of time and creating more duration in the cam causing more time for more air to come in and make more ponies. great engine if you got the pockets but my down fall is i dont have a gte, well its KINDA a down fall, i mean yea its gonna be hell to fab and tune, but at 9:5 ratio @ 12 psi it'll boil the tires with no boost. so ima wish you the best of luck in hope you do the same to me, cuz god know we need it!

id go 2j they make rediculous power an mk4 with just bolt-ons will run mid 11s ... my boss just decided to get rid of the shop car (900hp evo 9) to build an s2000 with a highly built 2j thats gonna be a hard swap
then im putting one in my car it should fly plus the 2j has the 2step option idk if the 1j does or not
