1JZ-GTE vs. 7M-GTE
Hi everybody, i'm new obviously and buying a supra (maybe) soon. But I'm just curious, whats better a 1JZ or 7M engine? Both turbo of course. I've used search and searched the stickies but havent found anything. Any hints?

it really depends on what you want to do and how much you're willing to spend ya kno? the 1j is pretty easy to build up and has usdm parts that are interchangeble, and the 7m is built here, so parts are easy, but the internals are weaker than the 1j engine. Then you have to considering wiring and swap parts for the 1j versus the 7m. I've done the 1jz swap, so if you have any questions just let me kno.

I have the 1jzgte in an 88 and a 7mgte in an 86.5. They are both fully built and punched .40 over with forged internalls. Just remember there is no replacement for displacement.
