IMHO, electric fans are overrated. They create a pretty hefty drain on the electrical system which the alternator must make up for... The higher the load on the alternator the greater it's resistance and the greater the load on the engine. Personally, if I ever decide to upgrade my cooling further I'll probably add a flex fan and the appropriate fan clutch... move lots of air at idle and at high RPM flattens out to reduce the resistance and thus lessen the load on the engine. If you do go electric make sure the fans you use flow enough air!
