Wow, your woman's pretty quick at this... she let you do any of the wrench turning?

You do however get a ding for the half painted engine bay...

Good job though! Now will it run?

I suppose you're asking about the one hard pipe end with the rubber cap clamped one? That one is blocked off on that side for GE engines... it's blocked off on the other side for GTE engines.

If you're asking about something else, post a picture.

Guide? I don't know what you're talking about... Could you post a pic or tell me more precisely what and where it is?

Yeah, that's the cap I spoke of then. If it feels stiff or dry you want to replace it now... it's proximity to the N/A's exhaust manifold ages them poorly.

The other part is the #3 cylinder cover gasket.... aka the spark plug galley cover/gasket. It's supposed to be coated with rubber. It's used to prevent debris from gathering in the galley and it helps keep oil out if the valve cover gaskets leak. I don't recommend removing it, but really it's not going to help if it doesn't have the rubber anymore. I recommend replacing it. Some people advocate removing it if the rubber is gone saying that you can at least reach in and clean out the galley then, but you still can't reach in and clean around the spark plugs to prevent grit from falling in when you remove them.
