What are the normal conditions seen when a 7MGTE blows a head gasket? Overheating, high boost, low boost, lean rich or just driving normal. Also stock head gaskets or racing head gaskets? I run a Greddy 1.5mm. Any info will be most helpful. Thanx and keep rocken your MKIII.

Overheating, whitesmoke out of pipe, oil in the coolant, coolant in the oil, waterfall sound behind dash. If it's really bad, you'll start missing and it will run like crap.

This counts for all cars with a BHG...

I have the water fall sound behind the dash, but I have had that sound comming from the car since I put my new motor in with the metal head gasket. And I have perfect compression on all 6 cylinders. Does this mean i have a blown head gasket. If it does my car sure runs great and makes great power for having a blown head gasket.

the rushing water sound can be just air pockets but it's usually the start of the BHG . the car will still kick ass at this point
are you getting a little spit up front ?
it's gonna run strong as ever until it gets more of a leak and then starts mis-firing you'll see and smell signs by then
at the water rushing point i think you are just passing gas once in a while into the cooling system . once you get enough you'll start pushing some out the over flow . the whole time all this is going on could be months. but once a leak starts water can sit right on the block each night and start corrosion of the block and head .
if you are going to use a metal gasket you need to remove the corrosion .

if it makes you feel any better ..i wasted a metal one by trying to use it on a block that wasn't prep'd right .
