Default I'm a beginner and want to know what i need to do. - Engine rebuild.

so i bought i a 7mgte engine, all taken a part already, good condition, but im going to buy a rebuild kit for it. it comes with everything besides a metal head gasket and oil something, lifter i think it was.

What do i do first? how much will it cost me? etc..

Everyones advice is good for me since i dont know much about rebuilding an engine. thank you!!

Well, the first question is are you going to be doing the work yourself?

Your new best friend: http://www.cygnusx1.net/Supra/Library/TSRM/MK3/ I strongly recommend buying a hard copy from Toyota... it is invaluable and MUCH better than what's available from third-party publishers.

You should post MKIII specific questions in the MKIII specific group.

Well, go through the manual I linked to and pay close attention. The only major thing wrong with the manual (other than a couple wiring discrepancies) is the head bolt torque. Head bolts should be torqued to 75ft. lbs.

The Engine Mechanical section is probably where you want to start.

Dont forget about getting the head resurfaced, block decked and retorqe the head studs after a few heat cycles. That is critical aswell.

also when the head is resurfaced, make sure they dont use a belt sander, Trust me.
