Default Wind noise near driver mirror

I have this annoying wind noise inside my 89, when I have the window rolled up and go past 40 mph. It's coming from near the driver side mirror. I slipped a piece of paper in and out, between the weather stripping and the door/glass, and feel a little less resistance pulling the paper out near the noisy area. I glued a 5" long piece of rubber cut from bicycle tube, along the weather stripping near the sound, to try to tighten up that area, but no change in the sound.

Does anyone have any ideas how to trouble shoot and reduce wind noise? I know there will always be some wind noise at speed, but the sound from near the mirror is much louder than the rest.

Anyone else experience this wind noise from near the mirror with the window rolled up? Is it just the aerodynamics of the car? Thanks.

Not an unusual problem, the rubber seal (arrowed in the photo) becomes hard due to age. I've had this problem on a few supra`s ; remove the wing mirror and using two pieces of wood and a G clamp squeeze the seal together. On the inside of the seal there is a metal plate, don’t close the seal gap too small or the window could jam. Just nip it up a bit at a time.

Thanks so much for the advise. It is so nice not to hear that wind noise.

I could not see how to take the mirror off, so I cheated, left the mirror on, and used channel locks with some small pieces of wood to squeeze shut the area that you had marked with the arrow. Did the trick.

If not for your diagram and instruction, I would be still gluing bits of bicycle tube to the weatherstripping trying to stop the noise. Thanks.
