need help with fog light bulb changing
 

have an 88 markII turbo and need to change out bulb-- does this unscrew or what

im not sure if you can reach it from the front but the whole assembly is removed from behind the bumper...

1988 is a MKIII, not MKII. The foglight housing for the '88 has a phillips screw on the inside edge of the chrome trim which is accessible from the front of the car (no digging around under or behind the fixture. Remove the screw, the trim will then hinge out and pull off. then you can slide out the glass and metal lamp housing. Pull the rubber boot off the back and the rest should be obvious. When replacing the bulb DO NOT TOUCH THE GLASS of the new bulb.

obvious maybe but mine is old and has a fair amt of corrosion-- does this sucker unscrew or what after the rubber damn comes off

Only one screw involved. After you get the housing slid out and pull off the boot, there's just a spring clip and the bulb comes right out.
