Breakthrough!!
Well, I'm sure we've all heard my turbo problems and what-not... but I, my good sirs, have made a breakthrough.
Well, I got to looking at the turbo hoses, vacuum hoses, and others... I've noticed that the airflow sensor hose is running into the actuator. The actuator is supposed to be connected to the intercooler, no? This is how the hoses are connected to my actuator. Right Shiah!! http://i207.photobucket.com/albums/b...16/Airflow.png Now wtf? |
ROFL.... getting a bit sloppy there though. The actuator must get its signal from somewhere between the turbo and the intake side of the head. Stock, the actuator's signal is sourced from turbo's compressor outlet directly; this is the safest location for it. Other options would be sourcing it from between the IC and the throttle body or sourcing it after the throttle body; Each setup has its pros and cons.
I am glad for the honorable mention... :p Where is the power steering's vacuum line run to? Stock WG actuator vac line routing: http://www.made-in-china.com/image/2...rger-CT26-.jpg <----- LandCruiser WG actuator BTW |
Well I was in a hurry, and it was like 4 in the morning haha + a laptop track pad doesn't really help the situation =/
Ok, so where the hell does the air flow meter hose go? He had this all screwed up.. x.x Never again will I allow outsiders to work on Natalie.:nono: Oh, umm btw do you have a more convenient way of contacting you? Sometimes I'm working on the car, and I need a few pointers... And considering, it takes up to 2 days for a reply... It doesn't help going to a forum. x.x |

AFM is in the correct place, between the accordion hose and your K&N Filter.

Oh ok, the vacuum hose on the bottom of the Accordion Tube...yep, it goes to the power steering.
|
Actually, I was asking about the vacuum hose that connects to the AFM.
Mine is connected from the AFM to the WG Actuator.. |
There is no vacuum line in the AFM... do you mean the hard pipe built onto the mounting bracket? That's *kind of* pictured in the images above... it sits in the middle of the hose which runs from the BVSV to the charcoal canister.
Here's a hint: On the under hood vacuum diagram (the red one posted above) any white segments of line indicate a hard pipe. ;) |
Okay, I just went out there and looked... It's not in the AFM, but it is on the bottom of the accordian pipe. I think. It's a long pipe, connected by two clamps.. as shown in F1.

HAH! I almost choked on my soda there.... managed to land most of it on the desk without saturating the keyboard though. ;) Damn, I'm gonna get you a big ol' box of crayons for your birthday!
Underside of the accordian would be the power steering idle up vac source... a nipple about 3/8" in diameter? I hate to say it, but let's have an actual photo this time and we'll see if we can't get you sorted out real quickly. |
:dunno: oki :(
I'll go take one. |
Ok.
http://i207.photobucket.com/albums/b...6/SSPX0050.jpg That's the connector I drew. Here's the line that runs into the accordion hose.. http://i207.photobucket.com/albums/b...6/SSPX0199.jpg Here's where it connects...then the line runs into my actuator. http://i207.photobucket.com/albums/b...6/SSPX0198.jpg |
<puts on director's cap>A little further back next time... hard to tell precisely where things are and no reference for gauging dimensions. ;) ,removes director's cap>
Well, I don't know what the hell he previous owner had going on and I'm not terribly worried about learning precisely HOW they managed to screw everything up... Just go through ALL of the vacuum hoses and make sure they all match the diagrams I've posted. The nipple off the bottom of the accordion connects to the Power Steering Valve shown in the pic below. The valve sits beside the block at the rear of the PS pump. http://oldschool.supracentral.com/repair/vac-hose2.gif |
It's fixed!!! He had the hose coming out of the turbo plugged into the power steering valve.. It's back! My baby is back!!
Now, it's time for the knock sensors! >.<:outahere: |
You should also check ALL of the other vacuum lines... If the PO was foolish enough to connect the actuator there who knows what the hell else he jacked up.
