Actually, the silver color isn't THAT rare... Considering, I looked in Indianaplos for a total of 30 seconds and found a silver one. It's a POS though.
The car you described sounds amazing, but these cars are wayyyy hard to maintain. Having the 1JZ would benefit you, due to the fact that your head gasket won't blow every time you're own a date. (Personal story) A BMW M3 turbo? Phew... That's a beast.. I wouldn't trade. Although, I don't know the current condition of your car.. I love Supras to death. I wouldn't trade mine for the world.. and the world does not include anything over/worth 10 grand. haha.

Well it's a 20 year old car.. So everything. The suspension, tranny, block, vacuum hoses, radiator hoses, injectors, make sure it's not missing.
All the normal stuff, since it's not a 7m, you shouldn't have to worry about head gasket failure as much. Id still check it. Run OBD and see if anything comes up. Drive it for more than 5 minutes. Good luck, man!!

I heard mention on a few other forums that it is more difficult to find parts for a 1jz. not impossible, just harder. might wanna check that to either confirm or deny.

Period blood red is terrible for interior, its fixable though. 1jz's were never offered in the US. 1jz>7m.
All I can say is plan on spending extra money on little things after you buy it. People often take short cuts.
