ok so i have a 88 non turbo supra [stock] that has a blown tranny..... i found a shop, but only had an 85 tranny.... can an 85 tranny fit in a 88 supra??? oh and its auto

Not that I've ever heard. The '85 came with the A43DL or A43DE, while the automatic on '88 is the A340E. IIRC the housings are too dissimilar for you to use one off an '85.

The A340E can be fit, but there is work to be done; I posted a link to a page with the details.
