2jz with w58 trans swap
So i sold my mk3 with a rebuild 7m and found a nice clean mk3 with a spun rod for 600$ and i found an N/A 2jz with 40k for 300$ and i have w58 just sitting around so i was thinking of doing the only logical thing and putting them all together.
However i am trying to find out how had it is to pair a 2jz with a w58 out of a mk3 and what is needed? im sure ill come up with lots of other questions about it but any info on the swap would be awsome to know so feel free to post it. but please i dont want to hear all kinds of crap about 7m is better then 2jz and all that i like both motors but at this point 2jz s are cheap for me to get so thats what ill use. Thanks matt |

Whoever said the 2JZ is crap should be banned... oh, wait, he was... if you're talking about who I think you're talking about.
They can be paired up fine... the MKIV N/A came equipped with a W58. It may have had a different extension housing, but I suspect all you'll need is the bell housing.

I really don't know all of the details. If no one chimes in here you may want to go and look in the MKIII 1JZ/2JZ swap section over at SM.
